The following links are to other sources of information on Mitochondrial diseases. They are not maintained by us, and we can not guarantee the accuracy of any information contained in them. We do feel that they are informative, and worth a look if you are interested in Mitochondrial disorders.

We are going to keep this list short, since the sites listed contain extensive link lists, and we don't want to duplicate the efforts that others have already produced.

MITOMAP - Mitochondrial Genome Database
Deep scientific background on the hows and whys of mito. Biology 101 is probably a prerequisite for understanding this site.

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)
Mitochondrial Myopathies are a subset of MD, and you can usually find new and exciting information on this website.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Government Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Try searching their database. All kinds of goodies, and you might be able to find a clinical trial  that might help in one form or another.
