We are a group of individuals in the Central Florida area that are working together to support research into, promote awareness of, and offer support to families affected by a Mitochondrial disease.
We are working closely with medical specialists, and doctors interested in Mitochondrial research to spread the word in the medical community so that more medical professionals will be able to recognize the symptoms of a Mitochondrial disorder and have accurate information and resources available to them to aid in accurate diagnoses.
Currently, wheels are in motion to formalize the group into a non-profit organization. This will allow us more flexibility and power to conduct fundraising efforts and sponsor local events to raise awareness of the diseases while giving something back to the public.
We hope you find this site helpful. Click on the 'Message Board' link above if you would like to join us in our online discussion group. There you can make new friends, discuss symptoms and treatments, or otherwise find support and assistance.
